Tax refund at Jeju Airport: location and steps

How do I claim a tax refund at Jeju Airport?

For a direct international departure from Jeju, follow the airport tax refund process at Jeju’s international departure facilities. If you fly domestically from Jeju and leave South Korea from Incheon or Gimpo, use the guidance for that international departure airport and terminal. The official guide below lists locations and procedures.

Conditions: Eligibility depends on the purchase and refund voucher; an immediate refund already given by the shop is not refunded again. Follow current customs and refund-operator instructions.

Your tax refund departure procedure depends on where your international flight leaves South Korea. Check your ticket first: a domestic flight from Jeju to Seoul is not your international departure.

International departure directly from Jeju

The Korea Tourism Organization lists customs on floor 3 near Gate 5, and the refund counter on floor 3 near Gate 16. Staffed hours are listed as 06:00–22:00.

Obtain a tax refund voucher at the shop. At departure, present your passport, purchased items and voucher for customs export confirmation when required, then follow your refund operator’s counter or kiosk instructions.

Domestic flight from Jeju, then international departure from Incheon or Gimpo

Use the guidance for the airport and terminal where you leave South Korea, rather than the Jeju international-departure locations.

  • Incheon Terminal 1: customs on floor 3 near counters E and J; refund counter near Gate 28.
  • Incheon Terminal 2: customs on floor 3 near counters F and G; refund counters near Gates 225, 249 and 274.
  • Gimpo international departure: customs on floor 2 near Gate 1; refund counter on floor 3 near Gate 36.

Confirm the international airport and terminal with your airline and refund operator. A Jeju–Gimpo domestic flight followed by departure from Incheon uses the Incheon guidance.

Check eligibility and documents

An ordinary receipt alone does not establish eligibility. Keep your tax refund voucher, passport and qualifying unused goods available for any requested inspection. If an immediate tax refund was already applied at the shop, do not expect a second refund.
