Sea & Coast
Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road
Full narration
Sinchang Windmill Coastal Road runs along the shore in Hangyeong-myeon, at the western tip of Jeju. Rows of white wind turbines stand offshore, their slowly turning blades creating a scene that feels worlds away. An ecological walking trail follows the coast, and a bridge stretches over the sea, bringing you closer to the turbines. Nearby is Singyemul Park. Its name, “Singyemul,” means “newly discovered coastal spring water” and refers to the clear natural spring water that rises by the shore. This is one of western Jeju’s best-known sunset spots. As the sun sinks into the sea, the turbines stand out in sharp silhouette against the red sky. Take a moment to watch their blades turning slowly over the water.
